How AI is being used in connected vehicle, infotainment, and service applications.
Automotive software now covers telematics, infotainment, mobile apps, and the back-office systems that support them. AI is being added at each of these layers.
Common uses include predicting service needs from vehicle data, helping technicians diagnose faults, and improving voice and navigation features in the vehicle.
These features depend on good telematics data. Data from different vehicle systems needs to be collected and governed in one place before models can use it reliably.
Safety and compliance requirements, such as ISO 26262 and UNECE cybersecurity regulations, apply to software updates, including AI features. Testing and release processes need to account for them.
Over-the-air updates make it possible to improve features after launch, but they also require careful staged rollouts and monitoring.
